  Redirecting the Spotlight

Hockey. Chinatown. Tall towers. Toronto is known for its multiculturalism, its infrastructure and its preference for tough guys wearing that Maple Leaf-blue. The Global 360 team has spent the past three months uncovering the city’s gritty and under-appreciated communities. We found people who communicate with the dead. We discovered hard-hitting poets and head-spinning b-boys. We took to the streets to unearth the scenes that make up the heart of Toronto’s underground. From roller derby chicks to British ex-pats attempting to revive the city’s oldest cultural traditions, these stories have had limited coverage and barely any mainstream exposure. We want to change that. Welcome to Global 360’s redirection of the city’s spotlight.
